Gravity's Clown

Image
It's time for Monday with Masaki! *somersault* Well, technically it's Tuesday, but I've been working on this post since Monday night, so it still counts! Hahaha. This movie is my personal favorite, maybe, because it combines a lot of my favourite things. Let's see...psychology, genetics, questions of morality, Okada Masaki... perfect! Banyak yang kabur duluan begitu mendengar promosi saya tentang film ini. "Genetika? Film rame apa yang bisa nyeret-nyeret genetika di dalamnya, Ver?" raung mereka. " Well, film ini," jawab saya. Serius, caranya menyatukan elemen-elemen sains dengan drama membuat kita belajar tanpa sengaja mikir. Apa lagi unsur-unsur family drama and a sprinkle of suspense yang merupakan jualan utama film ini. I assure you, it doesn't disappoint. Give it a chance, peeps. Date A Girl Who Reads (A Nudge for Husband-To-Be)

Image
I should remind you, though, the message here is "date a girl who reads", not " date the girl who looks like Keira Knightley holding book."   You should date a girl who reads.   Date a girl who reads. Date a girl who spends her money on books instead of clothes, who has problems with closet space because she has too many books. Date a girl who has a list of books she wants to read, who has had a library card since she was twelve. Find a girl who reads. You’ll know that she does because she will always have an unread book in her bag. She’s the one lovingly looking over the shelves in the bookstore, the one who quietly cries out when she has found the book she wants. You see that weird chick sniffing the pages of an old book in a secondhand book shop? That’s the reader. They can never resist smelling the pages, especially when they are yellow and worn. She’s the girl reading while waiting in that coffee shop down the street. If you take a peek at her mug,...

What I Want To Do, Where I Want to Go... : Vera's Bucket List

Image
Seperti yang pernah saya tulis dalam posting terdahulu , sekarang saya sedang rajin (?) mengikuti sebuah situs tantangan harian untuk meningkatkan well-being bernama Daily Challenge . Saya sedang aktif di jalur Finding Fulfillment dan inilah tantangan saya untuk hari ini: Share 3 things that are on your "bucket list." A bucket list is really a list of life goals you want to achieve/do before you 'kick the bucket'. And by talking about it to a friend or sharing it somewhere...well, hopefully those dreams will become more real. Jadi terpacu untuk benar-benar mencapainya karena, "gue udah koar-koar nih, masak semangat untuk mencapainya melempem?"   Mungkin bahkan salah satu teman kita punya item bucket lis...

A Poem About Me from Dini Fauziah Pratiwi

Image
Hari, tanggal : Minggu, 15 Desember 2013.  Tempat : Aula FPIK, Jatinangor (atau sebuah tempat di Burkina Faso, menurut service provider handphone  saya) Agenda :   Kongres Keluarga Mahasiswa Unpad.   Status psikologis Vera : hectic as hell. Pada saat yang sama, nun di sebuah mall di Kota Bandung ( BUKAN Ciwalk), teman-teman KBR (Kelompok Belajar Roket) sedang karaokean dan makan-makan. Alin mau nraktir gajian pertama, katanya. Darn it, pikir saya. Saya kan mau minta ditraktir juga, preferably steam kakap kuah lemon (my current food obsession). Kalau saya nggak datang, hanya kemungkinan kecil mereka makan steam kakap kuah lemon itu, karena mereka masih belum tahu betapa surgawi rasanya. Belum lagi khasiatnya buat kesehatan... I really have to look for that article about benefits of eating snapper and show it to them...  Ah, I sighed. You don't know what you miss, Guys, pikir saya. Sementara itu bagi saya, I knew what I missed. I missed them. T...
